Our classes at The Spa Resorts are Hatha Yoga classes with Iyengar influences.  Iyengar Yoga (named after its creator Yogacharya B.K.S. Iyengar) is meant for all and is a way of life.

The twice daily, morning Yoga classes (8.45am at the Spa Beach and 11am at the Spa Village) are 90 minutes in duration and taught by a team of 4 different teachers headed by Mike Cooper (over 10 years teaching experience) and Lieve Powell (over 20 years teaching experience).

Techniques masterminded by B.K.S. Iyengar focus on precision and alignment and can be used by anyone.  The use of props such as blocks, belts and cushions helps everyone achieve perfection in the asanas, regardless of strength and flexibility.

Regular practice of Iyengar Yoga integrates the body, mind and emotions.

All the classes are suitable for beginners and beyond and as some of the students will be detoxing, the classes are generally not too strong - Yoga in itself is detoxing, particularly the twisting movements.

Each class is different, depending on the experience and energy of the students, particularly those who are on one of the Spa Detox programs.
