About Thailand
Thailand is a gateway to southeast Asia. A population of approx. 65 million with lovely people mostly Buddhist. A hot climate mostly year round with temperatures rarely going over 30-35c/85-95f. The Northern part of Thailand, Chiang Mai, has a much cooler temperature especially in December and January, as low as 10c.
Political History
The word "Thai" means "free", and therefore "Thailand" means, "Land of the Free." Thailand is remarkably safe for foreigners. Thailand has been a Constitutional monarchy since 1945. Despite its spirited political climate Thailand continues to grow even in times of turmoil. While there has been a long history of power struggle amongst people and politics, the Thais are happy people. The country’s systems work and business goes on.

Thailand is famous for its lovely people. These friendly souls exhibit loving kindness radiating from their Buddhist beliefs. The Thais are hospitable and gracious, making Thailand a perfect place to visit and live.
